A Very Different Christmas (04/12/2022)

Hi,

It’s December again! I can’t believe how quickly the year flew by. December can feel really rushed with Christmas and school holidays fast approaching but the end of the year is also a time when I get a lot more nostalgic and reflective.

This time last year, I had a painful rash covering literally my whole face and neck, sparing my nose. I was terrified! I had no idea what it was and the stress was making it flare again and again.

Every single doctor I saw was pushing steroid creams at me even though they couldn’t tell me why I had a rash in the first place. I called it karma because I used to do the same thing 😔

I had a few thoughts going through my mind but never thought of seborrheic dermatitis until I ran across this random article talking about it.

And suddenly it clicked! It made sense! Throughout the years, I was building up to this moment with dandruff, neck rashes, random episodes of itchy patches on my face…

Then came the next problem. Other than basic info about seb derm, there was really not much out there. Almost all talk about seb derm was in Reddit and Quora forums and some of the opinions were a bit out there.

I had to dig deep and experiment to get control of seb derm. It took me almost 6 months but once I figured it out, I haven’t had a major flare.

That’s one of the main reasons I started writing about seb derm on my blog, madamewell.com and why I very recently started my Youtube channel – Madame Well. It’s pretty bad. I’m a total noob and I’m still getting the hang of video editing.

I’m trying to build a community there to discuss seb derm and exchange info. At the time of writing, I have a grand total of 3 subscribers! But I have confidence I’ll get there one day! (5 stars for optimism!)

It would be great if you would join us. I put out a video once a week with some short seb derm tips in between.

Regardless of what you have planned this December, remember to stay safe and take care of your health 😊

xx,

Sharon
