Hi, This week was an eventful one. I accidentally found a raised dark lesion on my 2-year-old’s finger that had popped up of nowhere. He never had any moles and one day, this 1cm black-brown thing was just there on his small little finger! Living in sunny Queensland and working with cancer patients on a daily basis, my heart skipped a beat and I broke out in cold sweat. I admit it. I panicked. Multiple worst case scenarios went through my mind. Everything else paled in comparison to the possibility that my precious son may have melanoma. We booked the earlist appointment available to see a skin cancer doctor. Luckily, he was pretty confident it was an intra-dermal bleed (bleeding under the skin) rather than a melanoma. We still need to keep a close eye on it but at least a skin specialist has seen it and wasn’t concerned. We all know that life can change for the worse, just like that. And yet, we let the non-important things in life get to us. Every single day. Seb derm, on my hierachy of priorities, is up there. I’m sure it is for you as well. Bad seb derm flares can really affect us emotionally and mentally. However, the fact remains that seb derm is not dangerous to our health. I’m not saying don’t worry about seb derm. What I’m saying is: Do what you can to improve your rash control. With my skincare routine and some good diet and lifestyle changes, it can usually be done. At the same time, don’t focus on your rash too much. Live life. Focus on the important stuff, whatever that is for you. If you live a good life, your rash will take care of itself. That’s my 2 cents this week. Interesting finds: Are you a fan of DECEIM? Did you know they are letting most of their product lines go? Hyalamide and SubQ are two popular brands they are cutting. This is really sad. But you know what the silverlining is? All remaining stock for these cancelled lines are going for half price. That’s 50% off! I stocked up on a few hyaluronic acid serums and eye creams. If you’re interested, use my affiliate link to go to their website. I get a small commission at no extra cost to you. Thank you 🙂 Recent videos: I uploaded a video about the four best foods to eat to repair your skin barrier and prevent seb derm. There are obviously lots of food that can help, but IMHO, these 4 foods are the best and easiest to incorporate in your diet. |
